We've arrived at our French country retreat, and our initial thoughts were that it's actually a bit more in the country and a little more of a retreat, than we had anticipated! After going for a ride to scope out the 15km radius our first concerns have been put to rest...it's beautiful countryside, quiet roads through vineyards and not far to neighbouring villages.We have a few day trips planned for on or off the bikes and finally we have a kitchen and fridge, which we'll be making great use of as we've done without for the last two weeks. You wouldn't believe the gorgeous, fresh ravioli and cheese we see in the supermarket...bring it on!
For tonight, we have a nice bottle of French red and some locally made pizza to heat up in our very own oven (the supermarkets aren't open on Sundays...can you believe it???). Hopefully we'll catch some of the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré (Tour lead up race) on the tele.
