Toulouse half day out

An early rise (8 am) to hit the road by 8.30 - for Toulouse. All motorway saw us get here nice and early. We pulled our walking shoes (back) on and made the usual b-line for the tourist info office. The very helpful recorded message...err.. I mean lady behind the counter pushed us a tourist map and circled all the old buildings in the area. We thanked her kindly and proceeded to do our own thing. We'd seen a hundred old buildings in the last couple of days so we just explored the city without really prioritising.

First stop/stumble was across some fyshwick-style markets, good for lunch and a bit of culture. Upon further exploring we discovered a hydro-electric power station, right in the heart of town (on the river). It was actually very interesting, and we even sat through the half-hour video (in french). May have had something to do with the extremely comfy seats. I'm sure Scotty had a little siesta in there....

The best find of the day was a Tour de France expo. Le Tour comes through here in about 7 weeks and the promo carnival was set up in a town square. It was quite a pleasant surprise, and we left a note on a message board for Cadel, sampled some freebies and Scotty had a go on KOM contest.

A short hop to Bordeaux tomorrow for a week of R & R and R.
